How would you describe your relationship with your Almighty God? Do you see it as one which is borne out of obligation rather than love? After all, you may be saying, “He died on the cross for my sins and therefore I owe it to Him to serve and obey Him”.
This is indeed true but the scriptures record that it was because of love that He died for us in the first instance. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever will call upon Him will not perish but have everlasting life”.
To enjoy a fruitful and awesome relationship with your God, you must fall head over heels in love with Him. You must love Him so passionately that a day without Him would be torture! He must take the first place in your life and every other relationship in your life (husband, children, parents, etc) must be founded on Him.
If you truly abide in His glorious presence, you will be as wise as a serpent and as harmless as a dove. You will love unconditionally and your desire will be to see Him lifted up in all situations. You will pursue peace at all costs. You will love your neighbour as your self and owe no man anything except to love them. You will strive to ensure that the meditations of your heart are most pleasing to God. You will no longer rest in your comfort zones but you will arise to let His light in you shine! You will be the salt of your generation and you will give life to all who come your way. Why? Simply because….it’s a love thing!
